The knife sheath is almost as important to me as the knife itself.
* Rock Solid Fit
My knife sheaths fit like an extra tight glove. It takes a little more effort to put the knife in, or take it out, so that you will not have to worry about the knife coming out and losing it.
To accomplish this, I experimented for several months to develope a unique process of molding. Each knife sheath is number coded. That code means that it was molded around one specific knife.
* Water Resistant
I also wanted to be able to hunt in the rain. I combine two leathers, held together by a contact cement. This creates a flexible barrier, to make the sheath nearly waterproof.
* Hand Stitched
In Addition each sheath is hand stitched twice for extra strength and longevity.
The knife sheath is designed to hang lower on the body, similar to a traditional six shooter gun belt. By doing this you will find that it is more compatible when wearing fanny & hunting packs. Because it hangs lower, you will also find that the weight distribution makes it more comfortable to wear.
This is a long process. There are several drying steps between the wet molding and glue drying. This process takes about a week and has six solid hours of work time for each sheath.
I use what I consider to be the very best Holster Leather from one of America's time tested leather tanneries- Herman Oak Leather Company. They have been tanning America's leather for 129 years!
I completely cover the sheath with Skidmore's Leather Conditioning Cream that is made with natural oils and beeswax. I have tested and tested many brands of waxes and creams, and in my opinion, there is no better leather conditioner.
When you see and feel this knife sheath, you will agree it is
"Like No Other."
